Sou da India, e faz 10 dias que estou aqui no Rio, procurando um quarto, apartamento ou conjugado e é bastante mais difícil que esperava. Achar um quarto legal é difícil porque não quero morar com uma pessoa muita velho assim que fico incomodando ela td tempo. A maioria das pessoas que alugam quaros são velhos..
Por isso, estou pensando em alugar um apartamento inteiro. Infelizmente, quase cada lugar que vi tem algum problema - ou que seja muito caro, ou que não goste o prédio ou bairro, ou fique muito longe do meu trabalho (que é em laranjeiras). Realizei que é os que são mobiliados são fora do meu orçamento.
Até hoje eu dois apartamentos qua não são mobiliados que gostei- no Centro e na Santa Teresa, com 2 quartos, sala, 2 banheiros e cozinha. Fui contado que aquele no Centro (que é melhor em todos jeitos exeto a localização que pode ser perigoso a noite - a rua fica deserto) é R$600 por mes + taxas. O outro (que é muito perto de Lapa - num lugar que acho ótimo) é R$600 + 150 condominio e uns R$ 30 iptu. Já passei muitas vezes lojas de mácinas e móveis usados em Lapa e acho que seja possível gastar R$900-1350 cada um de nós para equipar o quarto. (R$100-150, geladeira pra R$ 200, microondas R$100, chuveiro eletrico R$50, colchão R$ 200, cama R$150-200, armário R$100-200, mesa R$100, 2 sofas R$300-400, panelas etc R$200, e o resto uns R$300-400).
A vantagem deste jeito é que o apartamento seria apenas nossa. A disvantagem é que a gente vai ter que investir nos móveis e se não dar certo ou não vai ficar mas que 3-4 meses, ou se nós não gostarmos de si, será uma pena. Por isso, eu quero uma pessoa quer seja compatível comigo! Eu tenho 22 anos, acabei de formar de faculdade nos Estados Unidos e estou aqui para fazer uma pesquisa com uma ONG chamado Comitê para Democratização da Informática. Já sei que vou passar a vida inteira trabalhando no terçeiro setor.
A música que eu gosto mais é rock, jazz, reggae e muita música do mundo. Gosto de jogar fútbol embora que meu nível falta muito comparizando com brasileiros! Toco violão um pouco e quero aprender samba, bossa e chorinho. Eu bebo, e as vezes fumo embora que não goste de fumar no brasil porque o negócio é muito ligado com os traficantes e todos os problemas sociais.
Sou muito tranquilo e muito facil de comvivir. Sei conzinhar e faço comida indiana, italiana, tailandesa, chinesa, japonesa etc. Se quiser praticar inglês comigo, gostario de fazer muito.
Se não já soubesse, Lapa é perto do Centro e o bairro com mais movimento e festas cada fim de semana, e Santa Teresa é a zona das artistas e o lugar mais bohêmica no Rio. É bacana!
Se tiver interessado em morar comigo, me avise logo - mais um problema aqui é que os lugares bons estão alugados rapidinho e não quero perder essa oportunidade! Estou planejando de ficar no Rio pelo menos 6 meses.

I am from India have been in Rio for 10 days now, looking for a room, apartment or studio to rent and its a lot more difficult than I had hoped. To find a cool room is difficult because I don~t want to live with someone who is much older than I am and be disturbing their lifestyle in any way. The majority of people renting rooms are quite old (40s, 50s).
For this reason, I am thinking about renting an entire apartment. Unfortunately, almost every place has some problem - either they were too expensive, I didn´t like the building or neighborhood, or they were too far from my work (in a neighborhood called Laranjeiras). Those that are already furnished are too expensive for me, mostly because they are in the neighborhoods of Ipanema and Copacabana (by the beach) which tend to be tourist traps.
Till today, I have seen only 2 apartments that I like - one in Centro, and the other in Santa Teresa. They both have 2 rooms, a living room, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The one in Centro is R$600 per month + taxes (water, electricity etc) and the other one is R$780 per month including taxes. I have passed by many shops in Lapa (near the second apartment) that sell used furniture and electronics and I think it is possible to furnish the place for aobut R$900-1350 each. (R$100-150 oven and stove, fridge R$ 200, microwave R$100, hot shower R$50, mattress R$ 200, bed R$150-200, closet R$100-200, table R$100, 2 sofas R$300-400, pans etc R$200, and the rest about R$300-400).
The advantage of doing things like this is that the apartment would be ours and ours alone. The disadvantage is that we will have to invest in furniture and electronics and if things do not work out for 3-4 meses or if we do not like each other, then it will be a pity. For this reason, I want someone who would be compatible with me! I am 22 years old, just graduated from university in the US and am here to do research with an NGO called Committee for the Democratization of Information. I am already quite sure that I will spend all my life doing social work.
The music I like most is rock (classic), jazz, reggae and a lot of world music. I love football (soccer) although my level might not be quite as high as most Brazilians! I play the guitar and want to learn samba, bossa nova and choro. I like my beers on weekends and sometimes smoke although I don´t like doing the latter here because it is very connected with the drug trade which is the root of many social problems in Brazil.
I am tranquil and laid back and easy to live with. I cook Indian, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japonese food. If you would like to practice your English with me, it would be my pleasure.
If you do not already know, Lapa is close to the center and the neighborhood with the most nightlife and action in Rio, and Santa Teresa is the bohemian artist neighborhood. Its awesome! The second apartment is on the boundary between these two!
If you are interested in living with me, let me know soon - another problem in Rio is that all the good places get rented really quickly and I don´t want to miss this opportunity! I plan to be in Rio for at least 6 months.
